“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me!’”
 Matthew 25:40 (NLT)

Cleansing Hope Shower Shuttle is an outreach ministry of What Would Jesus Do Ministries, Inc. We are a true “hand-up” ministry, taking our mobile buses to the most impoverished areas of Stanislaus County. It is a basic human right to be clean, and yet for thousands of homeless and working-poor men, women, and children in our community, it remains an unmet need. We seek to restore hope and dignity by providing hot showers and a shave station, along with clean socks, underwear, and hygiene kits. But most importantly, we offer compassion and friendship. We seek to rehumanize those who have been hopeless and without for far too long. It’s amazing how something as simple as a hot shower can improve one’s day and outlook on life.

Everyone who needs a hot shower, a fresh shave, and clean socks and underwear. Our guests are from 1 to 85 years of age… homelessness can affect anyone. Some are between jobs or sleep in their cars. Some stay temporarily on couches of friends or sleep in parks or doorways. Some have homes but simply don’t have enough at the end of the month to pay for utilities. Approximately 2/3rds of our guests are men, 1/3rd are women, but ALL of our guests are seeking a way to feel better about themselves and their current situations. But more than just offering a shower, we offer compassion and restored hope and dignity by recognizing that being clean is the first step to reestablishing a sense of normalcy. Once a consistent routine of cleanliness is established, we have seen successes in gaining employment, renewed relationships, and improvements in living situations.
